Joe Franklin's talk show ran locally in New York on channel 9 and mixed various guests from different backgrounds. According to Franklin, Barbra was on the show several times, although the dates are not known. Like so many other early television shows, there are no tapes of the early Memory Lane shows. The legacy date on various Streisand lists for this show is February 14, 1963, but that doesn't make any sense — she was in Ohio performing at a nightclub and during the days, cohosting the Mike Douglas Show.

“As soon as I heard her sing, my intuition told me that the kid had a terrific set of pipes and a natural style. She was a new, fresh talent. And despite her looks—or lack of them—she would someday have to be reckoned with as a great star. So I started putting her on my TV show,” Franklin said in 1978.

The truth is that only one set of photographs of Streisand and Franklin have emerged; she's promoting her first album, which would have placed the episode at the end of February of 1963; possibly March 1963, considering her travel for live performances.

This is the part of the show where Joe Franklin did a commercial ... for Royal Gelatins.
