TRIBUTE TO ALAN BERGMAN AT 100
On September 11, 2025 the music world came together to Celebrate the Life of Emmy, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning lyricist Alan Bergman on what would have been his 100th birthday. Alan passed away on July 17at the age of 99. Friends, fans, collaborators and fellow artists gathered at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA.
Barbra contributed a video near the end of the concert, in which she said “Memories, there are too many to count..."
Commenting on their 62-year friendship, Barbra also said “We all became a family,” and that Marilyn “was a mother figure to me,” and that Alan “made all women, including me, feel safe and seen.”
According to Billboard, comedian Paul Reiser hosted. Trey Henry served as musical director. The musicians this evening were: Mitch Forman, Peter Erskine, Greg Phillinganes, Bob Sheppard, Bill Cantos, Jason Crosby, Serge Merlaud, Tamir Hendelman, Shelly Berg and David Finck.
