Barbra Streisand joined Carol Burnett, Sammy Davis and other performers at a benefit show called “Lights On” for Fight for Sight. Earl Wilson's January 18, 1963 column confirmed Streisand's participation (Wilson was a chairman of the event and praised the actors who participated).

Fight for Sight was founded in 1946 by Brooklyn native, Mildred Weisenfeld. The organization conducted research into the causes and cures of vision diseases and disorders.

According to newspaper reports, the show began at 8 p.m. and the master of ceremonies was Sammy Davis Jr.  Other celebrities who appeared included Carol Burnett, the dancers The Szonys, Myron Cohen (a comedian and raconteur) and opera singer Patrice Munsel.
