Boston Ballroom (1963)

Early February 1963
WHDH-TV, Boston
This television appearance by Barbra Streisand is a “legacy date” simply because it appears in early Streisand fan magazines and bios, but there is no modern  proof (i.e. a newspaper listing) that it happened.

Boston Ballroom was a local Boston TV show, hosted by Bob Clayton, which aired in the afternoons. American Bandstand with Dick Clark was a popular show at the time with teenagers, so WHDH invited Clayton to bring his popular radio show to T.V.

Streisand was actually in Boston at the time, appearing at the Revere Frolic for a week. Streisand reportedly sang “My Coloring Book” on Boston Ballroom.

If she really did appear on this show, then she did so just in the nick of time — Boston Ballroom went off the air later that month.
