Gossip columnist Liz Smith reported that Barbra Streisand is recording a new album, featuring her favorite movie songs. Smith said Streisand recorded the song, "Smile," two days after her dog Sammy — a white Bichon Frisé — died of cancer.

Barbra Streisand contributed a recipe to Bill Clinton's cookbook, to raise funds for Clinton's library foundation.
