“Radio Streisand” is launched online by AccuRadio. The all-Streisand internet radio station played Streisand's songs from albums of all eras. (NOTE:  AccuRadio and its Streisand station was out of business by 2008).

When news that Andrew Kuehn – who worked on trailers for the films "Prince of Tides," "Yentl" and "A Star is Born" – had died, Barbra issued a statement: “Andy was ever-changing, always visually original. He never relied on the same great idea twice, but would create a new one specific to each film. And he was a lovely man.”

Barbra and Jim Brolin surprised pal John Travolta at this 50th birthday party at the One & Only Palmilla resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. According to Liz Smith, “[Tom] Cruise presented Travolta with his birthday cake (alas, he did not pop out of it), and Streisand sang ‘Happy Birthday’ in what is now the traditional way — a la Marilyn Monroe to JFK.”

Barbra was honored in Los Angeles with the Humanitarian Award at the Human Rights Campaign Annual Gala. The event recognized people who have fought for civil rights in the gay and lesbian community through personal activism, outreach or positive portrayal of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender characters in entertainment.

Bravo airs Barbra’s interview on Inside the Actor’s Studio, drawing the highest ratings of any premiere episode in the 10-year history of the series – that’s 1.14 million total viewers and a 1.36 household rating.

Barbra and Jim attended a dinner at Sherry Lansing's home. The dinner welcomed New Mexico's Governor Bill Richardson, who was also the chairman of the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Also in attendance were Barbra's pals Shirley MacLaine and Ben Stiller.

Barbra Streisand auctioned hundreds of items from her films and personal life.


Julien Entertainment, which organized the event, exhibited the items in New York and London May 10 – 23rd then in Los Angeles at Astra West in the Pacific Design Center May 31st to June 4th.

Barbra Streisand sang live at the 'John Kerry and Friends ' campaign benefit concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The fundraiser earned $5 million dollars for John Kerry and had been rescheduled from June 6th after President Reagan died.

Barbra Streisand: The Collection – a 3 CD set – was released by Columbia Records.

An illustration of Barbra was used on the Gay & Lesbian Task Force's "And Marriage For All" deck of playing cards, which debuted at the July 19 Los Angeles Pride festival. Barbra appeared on the four of diamonds and a quote from her recent Human Rights Campaign speech was included.

Barbra’s A Christmas Album was re-released by Sony Legacy with the cover art now featuring a blue border. (Some fans call this “the ugly cover.”)

Barbra and Jim attended the Emmy Awards (Jim was nominated for his portrayal of Ronald Regan). They both attended Showtime's post-Emmy party.

Animated Barbra (voiced by an actress) appeared on NBC’s new show, Father of the Pride. The episode featured animated Siegfried & Roy, and Barbra wanting to eat a rebel lobster (voiced by Danny DeVito).

Barbra designed a corset to benefit RAINN (the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). Her corset with pink roses was auctioned for $3,000.
