The Concerts – a collection of three DVDs – was released in Europe.  The box set included Live in Concert 2006, the 1994 Arrowhead Pond concert, and the 1986 TV special, Putting It Together: The Making of the Broadway Album.

Columnist Roger Friedman reported that the entire cast of Meet the Fockers will regroup for a sequel, Little Fockers, set to begin production in July from Universal Pictures/Tribeca Productions.

The Concerts DVD box set was released on DVD in the U.S. and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Music Video chart. Barnes & Noble stores sold the Blu-ray of Live in Concert 2006 exclusively.

Al Schmitt was honored by The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter and Producers & Engineers Wing. Up Close & Personal With Al Schmitt was held at the Grammy Museum's Sound Stage. Barbra Streisand — with whom Schmitt was currently working with on the new Diana Krall-produced album due Fall 2009 — sent along some audio congratulations.

Page Six reported that Barbra Streisand's ex, Hollywood mogul Jon Peters, sold his memoir to Harper-Collins and that he intended to tell some secrets about his professional relationship with Streisand. “Just for the record...” Barbra posted on her website on May 20th, “the claims and statements attributed to me in Jon Peters' book proposal are either completely distorted or simply untrue.”  Later, Peters withdrew his memoir.

Viking Books announced that they would release a book by Barbra Streisand in 2010 titled A Passion for Design, all about the building of her home in California.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences paid tribute to Alan and Marilyn Bergman.  Streisand, while on stage with them, announced she wanted to record a Bergman tribute album that would contain their songs which she has not yet sung.

Conductor Bill Ross was nominated for an Emmy for “Outstanding Music Direction” on Barbra’s Live 2006 CBS TV show.

BarbraStreisand.com received another re-do, along with a big announcement that Barbra would celebrate the release of her new album, Love is the Answer, with a rare, live performance at New York’s small jazz club, the Village Vanguard.

Richard Jay-Alexander appeared on the half hour QVC show, Music of Barbra Streisand, selling Barbra’s Love is the Answer CD.  QVC offered a bonus DVD which contained songs from Barbra’s early TV shows. Richard Jay-Alexander raved about the new album, and several songs from the album were played on air, which resulted in over 10,000 sales.

Barbra’s former boyfriend, Barry Dennen, put three tapes of Barbra singing in the early 1960s on the auction website Moments in Time for $1 million USD. A spokesman for Streisand said, “Our lawyers are dealing with this.” [NOTE: It appears that the tapes were never auctioned.  The lawyers must have intervened.]

Barbra performed a one-night-only show at New York’s legendary Village Vanguard. 100 of her luckiest fans were the winners of a contest sponsored by Columbia Records and attended the show, along with Nicole Kidman, the Clintons, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Barbra Streisand addressed her involvement in a movie version of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Sunset Boulevard. “Well [the movie] actually was happening for a while, and I turned it down twice. And it's a hard one, because it was a great movie. I thought she was a little over-the-top, Gloria Swanson. He was very good, William Holden. It would need work for the film, a lot of work, I think, ya know...”
