Baron Investment Conference (2013)

Metropolitan Opera House

Lincoln Center

New York, New York

November 8, 2013

Barbra Streisand made a surprise appearance on stage at the Metropolitan Opera House for the Baron Investment Conference. Streisand—along with Counting Crows, Melissa Etheridge and Katharine McPhee—provided the entertainment in the afternoon for this private event.

The 22nd Annual Baron Investment Conference drew over 4,000 Baron Funds' shareholders at the Met.

Streisand was listed as the “surprise entertainment” at 2:45 p.m. on the afternoon schedule.“I guess I'm dessert,” Streisand quipped when she took the stage wearing a sexy, black Donna Karan ensemble. She was accompanied by a small ensemble, including Tamir Hendelman on piano.

After singing “The Way We Were” as her opening number, Barbra told the audience, “It's nice singing in the afternoon. It's like before Happy Hour. But I couldn't turn Ron Baron down because, you know, he's very persuasive. And I'm really impressed with him. I read that he made the Forbes 400 most richest people in the world list. I thought I was doing well, but then I saw pictures of his house in East Hampton ... My lord, you need a GPS system to get from the bedroom to the bathroom!”

Of note, Barbra’s performance of “Send in the Clowns” is quite dramatic and special (see video).
