Streisand and Vince Gill shot the video for “If You Ever Leave Me” at Sony Studios in Hollywood on August 23, 1999. Streisand reportedly was in great spirits while filming the video—the shoot lasted over eight hours. Streisand stood on wooden lifts in order to be more at eye-level with the 6-foot, 6-inch tall Gill.

During breaks in the shoot, Barbra reviewed story boards for her upcoming Las Vegas New Year's Eve concert (Timeless).

"If You Ever Leave Me" began airing regularly on CMT (Country Music Television) and GAC (Great American Country) October 1999.

The song actually entered Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart at No. 67! And the video charted high on the Country Music Television's most-played clips chart.
