National Association of Record Merchandisers (NARM) Convention (1971)

Century Plaza Hotel
Los Angeles, California

March 1, 1971
The National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) gathered in late February and March 1971 for their 13th annual convention.

NARM, a trade association serving the music and entertainment community, presented Columbia Records' president Clive Davis—who, in turn, presented several Columbia acts at the convention including the Percy Faith Orchestra, Lynn Anderson and Ray Stevens.

Barbra Streisand —introduced by Davis — headlined the Columbia presentation on Monday, March 1st. She was backed by the Percy Faith Orchestra. One magazine wrote that she sang a program of her hits — including “Stoney End” — and ended with “People.”
