This single was the American release of a French singing project that Barbra Streisand had been working on for months.
In Europe, Columbia Records/CBS released an extended play record (or EP) of Streisand singing French songs and called it Barbra Streisand En Français. Both songs on the American single were included on that disc.
“Le Mur,” by the way, is the French version of “I've Been Here” — which was released as Columbia single # 4-43808.
