ABOUT THE SINGLE

The release of this single is a bit of a mystery.  The album Superman had been released June 1977, more than 18 months before this single.  Streisand’s Greatest Hits Vol. II came out in November 1978, and the album Songbird was released May 1978. So, the single wasn't really promoting any of those albums.

Barbra Streisand was busy working on her movie, The Main Event, so maybe Columbia Records put this single out until Barbra’s Main Event soundtrack album and her October 1979 studio album, Wet, were released.

BILLBOARD CHARTS

This single did not chart on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart. “Superman” did chart on Billboard's Adult Contemporary and Easy Listening charts.
