“We’re Not Makin’ Love Anymore” (1989)

The video for “We’re Not Making Love Anymore” was produced by Columbia Records to promote Barbra Streisand's album, A Collection: Greatest Hits ... And More. Barbra and her director, Jim Shea, filmed the video early September 1989 for what the Daily News reported was a modest budget of $150,000.

The video featured Barbra singing in a penthouse suite (a set), while the rain outside blew the silk curtains dramatically. The dramatic scenes of the video were performed by a young, good-looking couple, while the video cut away to Streisand singing in the suite or in the studio, wearing a pink, off-the-shoulder sweater.

The exterior shots of the building were filmed at L.A.’s beautiful art deco building known at the time as The St. James’s Club.  Later, it was renamed the Argyle Hotel and is now known as Sunset Tower.

Jim Shea directed and contributed to the video script (he also directed the music video for 1999’s “If You Ever Leave Me”). Warren Seabury was a secondary producer on the video.
