The Grammy Awards (1981)

Aired: February 25, 1981 on CBS

The buzz surrounding Barbra Streisand on the Grammy Awards was high — the year before, she and Neil Diamond brought the house down with their dramatic rendition of their hit song, “You Don't Bring Me Flowers.”

One year later, Barbra had released a #1 album recorded with Barry Gibb — Guilty.

When singer Paul Simon introduced Barbra and Barry on the 23rd Grammy Awards, the audience gave them a standing ovation. Diana Ross can be seen clapping and saying, “Wow!” as the Guilty couple walked on stage, both wearing white.

They were there to present the “Best Rock Vocal Performance — Male” award.

But first, some patter.

Barbra: Barry .... Barry .... do you feel guilty?

Barry: No ... no.

Barbra: No? ... I do.

Barry: Why .... why would you feel like that?

Barbra: I don't know ... I feel like I'm cheating on Neil Diamond!
