ABOUT THE SINGLE

This single was not available to the public for sale, but was sent to radio stations for play to promote Barbra's big 1970 movie musical On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. One side was the stereo version of the song; the other side was in mono.

Arranged and conducted by Peter Matz and produced by Wally Gold, this is a completely different recording than the On A Clear Day soundtrack version (that album was arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle). It sounds very similar to the arrangement that Matz created for Barbra's high-profile gig at the International Hotel where she sang it in 1969.

Barbra recorded two other “single versions” of songs from the Clear Day score at the same recording session — “What Did I Have That I Don't Have” and “He Isn't You.”  Those songs remain unreleased and were arranged by Peter Matz as well.
